Understanding COVID-19 Strategies and Interventions in India.: After the first case of COVID-19 was reported on 30 January 2020, India took early and decisive actions and declared it an epidemic. A nationwide lockdown was announced from 24 March for 21 days. On 14 April the Prime minister announced the extension of lockdown till 3 May 2020.
